At RRB Convent School, we believe in creating a whole school culture that is safe and inclusive. School staffs are in a unique position of influence and must adhere to behaviour that models the highest possible standards for all the pupils within the school. As a member of a school community, each employee has an individual responsibility to maintain their reputation and the reputation of the school, whether inside or outside of working hours. Our aim underpins the school culture: to develop a happy, friendly, secure and well-disciplined atmosphere and to encourage a caring, respectful and trusting relationship between all children and adults.
CODE OF CONDUCT
a) Staff must not demean or undermine pupils, their parents or carers, or colleagues.b) All staff who work in schools set examples of behaviour and conduct which can be copied by pupils. Staff must therefore avoid using inappropriate or offensive language at all times.
c) Staff must take reasonable care of pupils under their supervision with the aim of ensuring their safety and welfare.
d) Staff must comply with school policies and procedures that support the well-being and development of pupils.
e) Staff must co-operate and collaborate with colleagues and with external agencies where necessary to support the development of pupils.
f) Staff must follow reasonable instructions that support the development of pupils.
g) Staff is expected to work with all pupils, irrespective of their demeanour or ability and should never attempt to refuse to do so.
h) Staff should not establish or seek to establish social contact with pupils or parents for the purpose of securing a friendship or to pursue or strengthen a relationship. Where staff need to make any social contact with pupils this should be discussed with, and approved by, the Head teacher.
i) All staff are expected to work as part of the whole school team and speak appropriately to other staff at all times, avoiding any abusive or offensive language.
j) It is the responsibility of all employees to carry out reasonable instructions given by team leaders or senior staff. If an employee refuses to obey a reasonable instruction, it will be necessary to investigate the situation and may lead to disciplinary action being taken.
